Meditace a učení buddhismu s Jigme Rinpočhem v Praze 17.-19. června 2022
22. 5. 2022

Srdečně vás zveme na víkendový kurz na téma Meditace a učení buddhismu s lamou Jigme Rinpočhem.

We cordially invite you to a weekend course on Meditation and dharma teachings with Tibetan Buddhist master Jigme Rinpoche (English below).

Dodnes Rinpočhe mnoho cestuje, navštěvuje a vyučuje v centrech a inspiruje všechny, kteří s ním přijdou do kontaktu.

MEDITATION AND DHARMA TEACHINGS WITH TIBETAN BUDDHIST MASTER JIGME RINPOCHE

Lama Jigme Rinpoche, a master of Tibetan Buddhism, will visit Prague from 17 to 19 June. During the weekend course, Rinpoche will convey in his distinctive, warm and accessible way the most important instructions on Buddhist meditation and how to apply it successfully in today’s turbulent times.

Meditation, Rinpoche says, is not about stopping thoughts (that’s not even possible), but about not letting them disturb one’s natural clarity of mind. The more we become familiar with this clarity, the lighter our mind will become – less burdened by futilities. However, for meditation practice in a Buddhist context to yield results, several conditions must come together: first, one must know how the mind works. This, together with an understanding of the doctrine of karma and the impermanent nature of phenomena, will lead us to develop kindness and compassion – as unpleasant feelings are not only experienced by us, but affect everyone. By developing this understanding, along with meditation training, everyone can return to the primordial qualities of clarity of mind.

Jigme Rinpoche is exceptional in his simple yet profound explanation, based on his own direct realization of these teachings. Born in eastern Tibet, he was raised and educated among the best teachers of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. In 1974, H.H. the 16th Karmapa appointed Rinpoche as his representative in Europe. „In the person of Jigme Rinpoche, I leave you my heart,“ said the Karmapa on the occasion of his appointment. Since then, Rinpoche has led Karmapa’s main European centre, Dhagpo Kagyu Ling in France, and has continued Karmapa’s activities in Europe and around the world. To this day, Rinpoche travels extensively, visiting and teaching at the centers and inspiring all who come in contact with him.

We warmly invite you to a course with Dr. Tina Draszczyk on the Fourfold Application of Mindfulness, taking place from 16 to 18 October 2026.

The Fourfold Application of Mindfulness is a meditative practice that leads us towards a deeper understanding of the body, feelings, mind, and mental phenomena.

We often experience them as something fixed, personal, and self-evident: the body as the centre of our existence; pleasant feelings as a source of happiness; our present state of mind as our identity; and thoughts or emotions as unquestionable reality. Buddhist practice, however, shows that the body, feelings, mind, and mental phenomena are all conditioned, changing, and devoid of any fixed, independent essence.

In this course, we will cultivate kind and steady attention towards what is happening in the present moment. Without trying to suppress, correct, or change our experience, we will learn to observe the body, feelings, mind, and mental contents just as they are. This practice can gradually loosen our clinging, deepen understanding, and bring greater calm, equanimity, and wisdom into daily life. More than that: when developed correctly and consistently, it can lead us all the way to complete liberation from suffering and its causes.
