Lama Yeshe Drolma

Lama Yeshe Drolma

Yeshe Drolma was born on the island of Wyk auf Foehr in North Frisia, Germany in 1945. Shortly after meeting H. H. the 14th Shamarpa in Germany in 1986, she dedicated her life to Buddhist practice and study. From 1989 until 2000 Yeshe Drolma was in retreat, including the traditional 3-year retreat guided by the late Gendun Rinpoche. She was then sent to the United States to help develop the Bodhi Path Center in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. Since then she has expanded her activity to the center in New York City. In North America, Yeshe Drolma is the resident teacher of the Martha’s Vineyard Bodhi Path Center and of the New York City Bodhi Path Center and nowadays spends much of her time in Europe. She is teaching only in a few centers in Europe and Prague is one of the lucky ones.

Svá buddhistická studia i překladatelskou aktivitu prohloubila v K.I.B.I. (Karmapa International Buddhist Institute). Obdržela titul Áčárja. Šamar Rinpočhe ji doporučil jako učitelku center Bodhi Path zejména pro její mimořádně hlubokou znalosti buddhistické filosofie.

We warmly invite you to a course with Dr. Tina Draszczyk on the Fourfold Application of Mindfulness, taking place from 16 to 18 October 2026.

The Fourfold Application of Mindfulness is a meditative practice that leads us towards a deeper understanding of the body, feelings, mind, and mental phenomena.

We often experience them as something fixed, personal, and self-evident: the body as the centre of our existence; pleasant feelings as a source of happiness; our present state of mind as our identity; and thoughts or emotions as unquestionable reality. Buddhist practice, however, shows that the body, feelings, mind, and mental phenomena are all conditioned, changing, and devoid of any fixed, independent essence.

In this course, we will cultivate kind and steady attention towards what is happening in the present moment. Without trying to suppress, correct, or change our experience, we will learn to observe the body, feelings, mind, and mental contents just as they are. This practice can gradually loosen our clinging, deepen understanding, and bring greater calm, equanimity, and wisdom into daily life. More than that: when developed correctly and consistently, it can lead us all the way to complete liberation from suffering and its causes.
